I am Melvin Dee, a Filipino Permanent Resident, and one of your current customers that availed renovation service.
First of all, I would like to thank you very much for the work you have done to our new flat. Since this is our first flat, it was with deep pleasure that our experiences have been very worthwhile throughout the course of the renovation work, and now we can call it home.

Dear Mr. Cliff Lim,
Frankly the experiences I have had with contractors over the years were rather unpleasant and sorry episodes.
This time, for the renovation of my current residence, I interviewed seven contractors. All of them were glib with their tongues with outrageous promises. I was not comfortable with any one of them. One day while I was watching Vasantham Central, I happened to see Classic Ideas advertisement. And, out of curiosity, my wife and I decided to take a chance.
I met Stephen. It was fortuitous meeting. The rapport was instantaneous. He never tried to impress me about the company or attempted any of the sales gimmicks. What struck me most was the passion he spoke with about his work and experience. You could see he was in love with his trade. I was able to communicate to him, the kind of ambience we wanted to live in and he reciprocated with creativity and cost-cutting ways and most of all, he dissuaded me from wanting to spend my money on unnecessary renovations. His proposals and options were practical and pragmatic so much so that we did not have difficulty in arriving at a choice decision.
When the designers completed their works, much of the changes were through his own creativity, improvisation and style. After several meetings, the house began to unfold its elegance and beauty in our minds. What impressed us most was his total involvement and commitment in the entire project. And we began wondering whether he was building his own dream house.
We trusted him so much that we gave him a free hand to do anything he thought would enhance its beauty – selection of fabrics, tiles, lightings, furniture etc- right down to the last details. As he promised from the onset, he kept his word. He actually transformed a rundown flat into a premium, classic condo style apartment. My family and I are so delighted and happy with our new dwelling.
During our house warming, the droves of people who came were full of admiration and awe of its clean beauty. They wanted to know who the contractor was. Very shortly, we intend to engage him to complete the second phase of the renovation as soon as my cash flows in. My family remains indebted to him. Our house will be a showcase house for Classic Ideas – that much we owe him and your organization.
I usually don't write in compliments because I am paying you good money for value. But in Stephen's case, I will doing injustice if I do not write to you about his stellar contributions – by way of his outstanding and uncompromising principles, character, the talent, the ability and the creativity to materialize one's dream house into reality. Without doubt, he is an invaluable asset to your company. Hope you don't lose him. My instinct tells me he's got the makings of an entrepreneur and he will make out as his own in the very near future. When he does, wish him well and successes.
Please convey our deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Mr. Stephen. Our appreciation also to Mr. Wilson for his total involvement and untiring assistances in more ways than one and thus ensured that the workers skillfully translated our ideas into a work of art. Always smiling and obliging he never once displayed any sign of irritation or anger even when I was demanding and sometimes quite unreasonable. He has an excellent mentor in Stephen and without doubt he too will manage a team of his own.

Re: Commendation – Mervin Pan
The purpose of this letter is to formally and publicly commend Mervin Pan for the excellent service he provided to us. Throughout the renovation of our house in my opinion, the level of service that Mervin extended to our family was far beyond our expectations.
I have never before written a letter like this on an entirely unsolicited basis. However, in this case I was so impressed by the support and service provided by Mervin in his co-coordinating of the various contractors. I felt compelled to go on record with my praise. He truly deserves it. In an era where exceptional one-to-one customer service excellence has virtually disappeared from the renovating industry, the work that Mervin did should be held up as an example for others to try to emulate.
What particularly impressed me about the level of service provided by Mervin was that there were no additional financial rewards involved. It appears that it was simply the extraordinary commitment to excellence in customer service and support that motivated him to always go the extra mile.
In closing, I believe that Mervin Pan truly deserve to be congratulated and rewarded for providing customer service and support well beyond the expectations of our house renovation.

We have just completed our renovation with Classic Ideas, as coordinated by Mr. Derrick Toh from the Paya Lebar office. We partly took up the package then given the recommendation from my sister who was your satisfied customer and your promotion adv.
In particular, we would like to commend the good service, sincerity and professionalism by Derrick, in helping us to complete the major renovation within about 2 months as targeted. Derrick is service-oriented, energetic, polite and always prepared to respond to his clients soonest at anytime of the day. On a few occasions, he had gone out of his way to help resolve unforeseen problems and offer quick solutions in our issues e.g. making late design changes, cleaning, touch up on short notice etc.
Ah Heng and his assistant as a small team on their own covered for the full carpentry work. They are friendly, prepared to listen and make changes on request due to our design needs and ground situation as well.
Your Buy & Sell deferred payment scheme is an innovative and attractive business offer. Whereby your Finance Director personally took time to explain to us the agreement and working details which were quite new to us.

Letter of Appreciation
Re: Commendation – Alan Soh
It was by chance that my neighbour located at the 10th floor had his flat renovated by Classic Ideas Construction. I visited his flat and noted that he was pleased with the outcome of the renovation and strongly recommend Alan for which he gave good reference. At that time, Alan was unknown to me and after much consideration; I made an appointment with Alan for a quote.
My first impression of Alan was that he projected an image of maturity and confidence at the first meeting that boosted my confidence in engaging Classic Ideas Construction to undertake the entire renovation of my mansionette.
Renovation of my flat has finally completed with the handling over on 29 Dec 2009. I am well pleased with the outcome of the renovation and wish to register my sincere appreciation to Alan for a job well done.
I have noted the following occurrences during renovation and wish to draw your attention to them. They are:
a) Timely completion of project
Note that Alan has completed the renovation in accordance to the schedule he gave me at the initial negotiation stage. This is important to owner like me who has planned to receive my in-laws from NZ for a short stay in early 2010. This is only possible thru' Alan's effort in ensuring adherence to schedule by his vendors with close monitoring of their progress.
b) Relief to owner's burden Due to the heavy work schedule at my office, I was unable to accord much attention to the renovation work. I feel the relief having selected Alan as the Project Coordinator for he frees me of the chores to keep close monitor of the renovation progress which is both tedious and technically burden / stressful.
c) Good technical knowledge in building requirements, ID and furniture
I notice that there are many complications in the progress of renovation. Alan is fairly knowledgeable in areas of building requirements, ID and furniture. Just to illustrate a few incidents that demonstrated his skills in resolving difficult situations:-
i) Air-con piping installation – Beauty is the key to me in running of air-con pipes. The technician from Gain City could me provide ne with a satisfactory piping route for which Alan was asked to brain-storm. He suggested an amicable route for the piping work which helped to camouflage majority of the air-con pipes that meet my requirements.
ii) IT – I had problem running & selecting the right cables to connect my laptop to the LCD TV. Alan had provided useful IT tips to resolving this issue.
iii) Breakfast table at kitchen – There was an instance when we encountered problem with the design of the breakfast table protruding to far out that obstructing the passage and location of the fridge. For consistency, I did not want to change to the last layout. Alan had cleverly redesigned the kitchen cabinet that flushed the breakfast table close to the tall unit thus provided a wider passage for movement yet not compromising the layout of the breakfast table.
d) Good EQ skill
On numerous occasions, there were diverse opinions in the design for furniture, colour selection, layout of furniture and choice of tiles. Alan has the QE skill in smoothening the differences amongst my family members that drew us to reach compromise / agreement without hurting one another's feeling. This QE skill is vital as the Project Coordinator may frequently been challenged by the opposing family for taking sides or ignoring the other's preference. In short, Alan can be a good arbitrator for family with diverse views in renovation.
e) Working with zeal and commitment
It is observed that he displays the zeal and commitment in executing his work and trying his best to resolving difficulties that come along the way. This right work attitude is important in view that renovation work is never an easy task that runs into complication and complexity when many trades are involved.
Being located at the top of the block, I have ceiling leaking problem. Alan has been patient enough to provide window time for HDB and Town Council to repair the leak at the expense the installation of my wardrobe in the master room.
